How to add an IMAP email account to your iPhone or iPad

To add an email account to your iPhone or iPad you will need to have the following information to hand:
 

Username:

 Your email address, eg. will@mycompany.com

Password:

 Your password as provided by INDIGO

Incoming Mail Server/Hostname:

As provided by us, usually your domain, proceeded by mail. eg: mail.mycompany.com

Outgoing Mail Server/Hostname:

Same as above

 

To add the account on your IOS device:

 

  1. Locate and open the 'Settings' app on your device.  This is the one with the grey cog icon.
  2. In the 'Search' section type add account and then tap on the 'Add Account' result that appears
  3. Enter your email address when prompted and click Next
  4. Click 'Add Other Account' from the list of providers shown
  5. Click 'Mail Account' from the options shown
  6. Complete the fields shown and click 'Next'.  You can enter whatever description you like but it will usually be autocompleted with your email domain name.
  7. On the screen that follows, firstly ensure that the 'IMAP' option is selected, before completing the information as shown in the screenshot below, using the information provided by INDIGO. 
    Important: If required to enter Mail Server/Hostname fields then do so as below and enter the same information for both Incoming and Outgoing mail servers.

  8. Click 'Next' and wait for the process to complete. 
  9. Once completed click 'Done' and then navigate to your Mail app to confirm you can send and receive email
